Published work

During my freshman year at New Mexico State University, I was published as a sports journalist for Kokopelli, now Crimson Wire. Over the course of the 2018-2019 academic year, I covered volleyball, football, and both men’s and women’s basketball, earning 19 bylines. That season culminated in the on-the-ground coverage of the 2019 Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournament in Las Vegas. I followed both men’s and women’s teams through their championship runs and 2019 NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championship bids. It was in that setting that I learned how to report under pressure and tell stories that mattered beyond the final score.
